Town Plan & Zoning
The Town Plan and Zoning Commission is charged with two separate but related functions.
"The Planning" function of the Commission requires it to anticipate the changing needs of the community by writing and updating the Town Plan of Conservation and Development and subdivision regulations which is the process by which large tracts of land are divided into smaller "lots."
"The Zoning" function of the Commission in turn guides and regulates the development of the town by updating and administering the Zoning Regulations with the goal of preserving the character and integrity of the community.
