Exercise
Classes will be modified to your fitness level/ability. If you're not sure a class is right for you, try a complimentary class first. Call The Center (203-389-3451) or email (kmoriarty@woodbridgect.gov) for more information or to register.
- Aerobics Class with Laura Richling, Tuesdays and Thursdays, 10 to 11 a.m., Center Building Gym. Fee - $3.00 payable at the start of each class. Enjoy a complete cardio and strength training workout to music. Bring your own 1- or 2-pound hand weights, if you have them, to use during the class.
- Indoor/Outdoor Pickleball, Monday-Friday, 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. Center Building Gym or 7 days/week on outside court 3. Annual fee: $20 for residents, $25 for non-residents. Enjoy playing in the newly renovated gym with climate control and air filtration or outside on reserved court 3. Call for more information. Please be sure to check in at the kiosk at The Center (or through your phone/tablet) prior to each play.
- SPECIAL PROGRAM OPPORTUNITY: T’ai Ji Quan: Moving for Better Balance (TJQ:MBB). Call The Center for the next scheduled session. Improve your balance, mobility and daily functioning while preventing falls with this popular, evidenced-based therapeutic movement program, offered in partnership with the CT Healthy Living Collective and funded in part by the CT Department of Aging and Disability Services State Unit on Aging. Participants meet twice a week with local instructor Bill Banick. No previous T’ai Ji Quan experience is necessary. All fitness levels are welcome! You must sign up with The Center for the full 24-week ($96.00) session. Please call 203-389-3451 to register.
- There is a $25 fee per calendar year for non-Woodbridge residents. Sign up for monthly e-blasts or hard copies of monthly newsletters are available.

- Bingo! Every Tuesday, 12:45 to 1:45 p.m. - The Center Café, $1 fee per 10 game book. Bingo at The Center is sure to be a fun time with our very own Rose as the caller! Cash prizes dependent on number of cards sold. Must be over the age of 60 to participate. Bring your own dabber or purchase one for $2. Please call to register.
- Bridge - Wednesdays, 1 to 4 p.m. in The Center Lounge. No partner required. Please call prior to first attendance.
- Canasta - Experienced players invited to drop in on Mondays, 1 to 3 p.m.
- Craft Group - Tuesdays and Thursdays 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. in The Center Lounge. Bring your current knitting or crocheting project to work on while enjoying social time.
- In-House Lunches - Available every Tuesday from 12 to 1 p.m. in The Center Cafe. Cost is $5 for residents, $6 for non-residents. Please call by 12 p.m. the day before. Registration required.
- Mahjong - Experienced players are invited to play on Mondays and Fridays, 12:30 to 2:30 p.m., and beginners on Wednesdays at 1 p.m.
- Lunch Bunch - Once a month social lunch outing to a local restaurant. The van leaves The Center at 11:30 a.m. or meet at the restaurant at 12 p.m. $3 for transportation and self-pay for your meal. Registration is required.
- Painting for Pleasure with Carole Abbate - Mondays, 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. in The Center Cafe. Create the subject of your choice as Carole helps inspire beginners to intermediates paint with acrylics or watercolors. Sessions run back to back, prorated at $6.00/class.
- Pinochle - Drop in, Thursdays, 1:30 to 4 p.m., in The Center Lounge. Beginners are welcome.
- Billiards - Available in Room 13 for drop-in play, Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Please sign in using the book on the counter.
- Table Tennis - Available in Room 13 for drop-in play, Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Please sign in using the book on the counter.
- Local Trips - Offered periodically throughout the year.

- Ask a Cardiology PA Program with Becket Greten-Harrison - 4th Thursday of the month in The Center Consultation Office, Center Café, 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. - Becket Greten-Harrison, PA and founder of Hearts at Home, will be available the 4th Thursday of each month (unless otherwise noted) to help answer questions and concerns about your health, check vital signs, including blood pressure, and perform a brief exam upon request. EKG monitoring is also available. Consultations are private, informal, and strictly confidential. No notes or other personal information will be saved. No appointment is necessary.
