The Woodbridge Board of Selectmen continued the recessed Annual Town Meeting, which was held on May 17, 2021, and will now be held on Wednesday, June 2, 2021, 6:30 pm at the Woodbridge Fire House, 100 Center Rd.
Masks and social distancing will be required. The space will be well ventilated and, weather permitting, outdoor space will be available.
Early check-in begins at 5:30 pm. All voters must check in with the Town Registrars so the Registrars may determine the number of eligible voters at the meeting, since the Town Charter requires a minimum of 250 voters present and voting to increase, decrease or eliminate a line item.
The recommended preliminary budget summary was previously mailed to all households, and you may view the version with line item detail on the Finance Department webpage, along with the April 19, 2021 preliminary budget hearing presentation and a recording of that hearing.
Annual Town Meeting Procedure:
Based on the Town Charter, only line items can increased, decreased or eliminated. Each line item motion must have a minimum of 250 voters present and voting and at least 60% of those present and voting is required to increase, decrease or eliminate a budget line item. There cannot be a vote on the overall budget as the Charter limits votes to line items only.
