[ARCHIVED] Continuation of Recessed Annual Town meeting is June 2

NOTICE AND WARNING:  The Woodbridge Annual Town Meeting, held on May 17, 2021, has been recessed and continued to Wednesday, June 2, 2021, 6:30 pm to be held at the Woodbridge Fire House, 100 Center Rd.  Masks and social distancing will be required.  The space will be well ventilated and, weather permitting, outdoor space will be available.   Early check-in begins at 5:30 pm.  

The recommended preliminary budget summary was previously mailed to all households and the version with line item detail is on the Town website along with the preliminary budget hearing presentation and video of the hearing.
 

Electors and citizens qualified to vote in a Town Meeting of the Town of Woodbridge are hereby notified and warned that the  recessed Annual Town Meeting is continued to Wednesday, June 2, 2021 at 6:30 pm at the Woodbridge Fire House, 100 Center Rd., Woodbridge, CT to consider and take action on the following:

I. To Act on the FY2022 Budget as recommended by the Board of Finance in the total amount of $51,566,481. The Board of
 Finance recommendations are those presented at the Preliminary Budget Hearing on April 19, 2021. 

II. Other business as proper to come before the meeting.

NOTICE
Section 6-2(h) of the Charter of the Town of Woodbridge provides in part that the Town meeting shall consider each and every budget item. Final adjournment of the annual meeting of the Town Meeting shall not take place until an opportunity shall have been given to present motions, if any, addressed to each recommended budget item. As of the time of final adjournment of the annual meeting of the Town Meeting, there shall be deemed to have been appropriated a sum of money for each recommended budget item identical to the sum recommended therefore unless that sum is increased, decreased or eliminated by a vote of the Town Meeting which meets all of the following conditions:  1.) No recommended budget item may be increased to an amount which is greater than the original request for appropriation filed pursuant to Sec 6-2; 2.) The total number of eligible voters present and voting when each question is put to a vote equals not less than 250; and 3.) The votes in favor of the motion to increase, decrease or eliminate constitute no less than 60% of the total number of votes cast.
