The Municipal election will be held on May 3 from 6 am to 8 pm in the Center Gym at 4 Meetinghouse Lane. The Regional School District 5 budget referendum is on Wednesday May 5 from 6AM to 8PM in the Center Gym, a copy of the budget is available on the Region 5 District website.
The deadline for in-person, mail-in or online voter registration is Monday April 26. All mail-in voter registration applications must be received or post-marked by this date. After this date voters must register at the Polls on Election Day. You can register to vote online: voterregistration.ct.gov. IN PERSON VOTING:
CDC guidelines will be followed for safe voting. Masks and social distancing by voters will be implemented. Voting booths will be cleaned after every use. Hand sanitizer will be available. Election Day Registration will be available, but you are encouraged to register early. You can register online at voterregistration.ct.gov.
ABSENTEE BALLOT VOTING:
Governor Lamont has issued executive order 10E which extends the right for voters to cite COVID-19 as a reason for an absentee ballot. To vote by absentee ballot you must submit an application to the Town Clerk’s office by April 30 at 4PM. Unlike prior elections applications are not automatically being sent to residences and you can obtain one by contacting the Town Clerk (203-389-3422) or downloading the application from AB Ballot . Applications and ballots may be returned by mail (must be received by Monday may 3) or dropped in the ballot box outside of Town Hall (11 Meetinghouse Lane) by 8 pm on May 3.
