[ARCHIVED] Community Conversation to Feature Author Ed Gordon

Ed gordon

The Town of Woodbridge is proud to offer the first of a series of outreach initiatives dedicated to the topics of diversity, inclusion, and collaboration. These “Community Conversations” have been developed by the Woodbridge ad-hoc Community Council, in conjunction with the Beecher Road School Diversity Committee, the Woodbridge Town Library and the National Coalition of 100 Black Women - New Haven Metropolitan Chapter.

The first of the series will feature award-winning journalist Ed Gordon, author of the new book “Conversations in Black: On Power, Politics, and Leadership” which, according to the publisher, “takes a comprehensive and unvarnished look at the state of Black America. The book’s author, renowned journalist Ed Gordon invites readers to #jointheconversation about creating new narratives for people of color. Noted as a skilled interviewer, Gordon brings together a diverse group of today’s most prominent African American voices for a (virtual) gathering to discuss where African Americans and the country go from here.”

The first Community Conversation will be held virtually on Tuesday, July 28 at 7pm. All are welcome to participate. The theme of the conversation will be: Activism: How to Stand Up and Enact Meaningful Change”. Mr. Gordon will facilitate a panel with local residents to explore subjects that embrace critical questions in today’s charged climate, and about people of color’s continuing quest for equality.

Register in advance for this webinar at this link: https://us02web.zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_6hEVHkDnQOCqcoT43t0MAQ .

There is no cost to participate, however book purchases are encouraged. Book sales will take place on the Woodbridge Town Green adjacent to the Woodbridge Police Department, on Saturday, July 18 and July 25, from 9am-10am. Each book is $25 and exact cash or check (payable to Gordon Media) is appreciated.
