[ARCHIVED] Stolen Vehicles & Thefts from Parked Vehicles

The Woodbridge Police Department reminds residents to lock their vehicles and to report suspicious activity following several thefts from unlocked vehicles during recent months, along with two vehicles stolen over this past weekend.

The trend is that many of these thefts are occurring during the early morning and overnight hours, with the recently stolen vehicles taken from private driveways located in the Amity Road/Seymour Road area, and the Ansonia Road/Northrop Road area. These types of incidents are not isolated to Woodbridge and are being experienced in cities and towns throughout the region.

The primary and most effective deterrent is to lock your vehicle.

 Additionally:

  • Remove spare keys/fobs.

  • Remove all valuables and loose change.

  • Enable vehicle security features (i.e. alarm system, vehicle tracking).

  • Immediately report any suspicious activity, persons or vehicles by calling 911.
