[ARCHIVED] Woodbridge Police Remind Community Members to Lock Their Cars

police car

The Woodbridge Police Department is reminding residents to report suspicious activity and to secure their vehicles and garages following several recent thefts from locked and unlocked vehicles, all of which have occurred within the past few weeks during the overnight hours. These thefts have been spread throughout the town, and have not been limited to any specific area.

Entry into some of the vehicles was made by breaking the vehicle’s window to remove valuables that had been left in plain sight.

The following advice is provided for all residents:

1) Lock your vehicles, homes, and garages at all times - use alarm systems, if so equipped

2) Do not leave spare keys in your vehicle, or valuables in plain view - lock items in your trunk

3) Report suspicious activity immediately to the Police (for non-emergencies call 203-387-2511 - for emergencies dial 911)
