The Public Opinion Survey deadline was extended to allow time for responses to make their way back to Town Hall and the Town Library after an unexpected postal delivery delay. By the extended deadline, just over 850 completed surveys were returned. That represents slightly more than 26 percent of the surveys mailed out. The statistical analysis team at Amity High School reports that this is very good response rate for a survey of this kind. They are in the process of tabulating the data and analyzing the results.
Once the analysis is completed, the next step of the plan is for the Board of Selectmen to receive a report and presentation. This has been scheduled for the April 11 BOS meeting. After this presentation, and once everyone has had time to absorb the insights the Survey data will provide, the Selectmen will also schedule a follow-up meeting to discuss and hear public comment, which is set for Wednesday, April 25. Please check back for more information as soon as it becomes available.
