Deputy Secretary of the State Scott Bates has been traveling around the state to meet with Town Clerks and Registrars of Voters to hear from them directly their thoughts on how he and Secretary of State Denise Merrill can streamline and improve their services to municipalities. He spoke of technology initiatives including cyber security measures, the importance of protecting the voting process and ensuring access within the guidelines of the Help America Vote Act (HAVA). On his visit to Woodbridge November 1st Mr. Bates was greeted by First Selectman Beth Heller, Town Administrative Officer Tony Genovese, Registrars of Voters Anna Dickerson and Elia Alexiades, Town Clerk Stephanie Ciarleglio, and Assistant Town Clerks Ellie Sheehy, Karen Berchem and Cyndi Pecca.
