The Woodbridge Police Department recently welcomed a new patrol officer. Officer Daniel Sanchez was sworn-in at the Board of Police Commissioner's meeting on October 3, 2017. Officer Sanchez, who is bilingual and fluent in speaking Spanish, is a 2016 graduate from Central Connecticut State University and a member of the CT Army National Guard. He visited Town Hall offices on November 2nd where First Selectman Beth Heller welcomed and congratulated him as he begins his service in Woodbridge.
Police Chief Frank Cappiello introduced Officer Sanchez to the Police Commissioners at their October meeting, saying "We are happy to have Daniel as a member of our Department, and as a member of our law enforcement family."
Officer Sanchez successfully completed his training at the Connecticut Police Officer Standards and Training Council’s 357th Academy with a graduation ceremony on September 19, 2017 and badge pinning ceremony held at Welte Hall on the campus of Central Connecticut State University. Officer Sanchez immediately began his Field Training here and that training will continue into the month of December. 
Police Commission Chairman Robert Berke administered the oath of office in a brief ceremony at the October meeting, which was attended by family members of Officer Sanchez.
