The Animal Respite Facility Building Committee met on August 31 to review progress on the project to improve the District Animal Control facility located at 131 Bradley Road. The Regional Water Authority has reported that the installation of a water line has begun, thanks in part to funding for the project received in the form of a STEAP Grant.
The installation will include two hydrants on the new water main extension. A crew has been at work on the road since last week and is expected to install the final water service connection from the curb valve to the building’s meter vault this week. This portion of work will necessitate a brief closure of the Animal Control facility on September 19th.
While the building is closed, personnel will still be available. The public is advised to please continue to use the telephone hotline for any emergency concerns regarding animals: 203-389-2511. The Animal Control building on Bradley Road is expected to be open for business again on September 20th.
