[ARCHIVED] Tax Office Offers Extended Hours

Come In, We're Open sign

As the deadline for real estate, personal property and motor vehicle taxes approaches the Tax Office is offering extended hours.

Town Hall is open Monday through Friday 8:30 – 4:30 p.m. but the Tax Office will open its doors on Saturday, July 29 from 9 a.m. to noon and will remain open on Tuesday Aug. 1 until 7 p.m. to accommodate taxpayers.

Although taxes are due July 1, residents have until Aug. 1 to pay without penalty. Interest on late payments is calculated at 1 1/2% each month, from the due date, or 18% per year. The minimum interest charge is $2.

The Tax Office accepts cash and checks when you pay in person, but not credit cards. Residents may use a credit card to pay taxes online and may also check their tax bill status online.
