UPDATE 12/30:
The Town will NOT hold a distribution event on Friday Dec. 31.
The State's shipment of COVID-19 at-home test kits did not arrive on Wednesday. The Town is waiting to learn when the shipment will arrive and when the Town can expect to receive the kits. The Town will receive approximately 1,100 test kits; each kit includes two tests. Of the 1,100 the Town is reserving about 300 to distribute to Human Services' most vulnerable clients and to emergency personnel and Town staff in order to ensure continuous government operations.
UPDATE: 12/29/21 5 pm:
The Town of Woodbridge hopes to receive approximately 1,100 COVID-19 at-home rapid-test kits from the State government sometime on Thursday. Each kit has two tests.
However, due to shipping and warehouse delays outside of the State of Connecticut’s control, our state’s anticipated shipment of COVID-19 at-home rapid tests are currently delayed from arriving in Connecticut. Once the Town knows when the shipment will arrive we will update the public on when to expect a distribution event.
Currently, the Town tentatively plans to distribute our test kits at a first-come, first-serve event on Friday Dec. 31, assuming the test kits arrive in the State tonight or early Thursday. In the interim, we are on standby. Please stay tuned for details, which will be announced through a CT Alert robo call once we've confirmed all the details. That call will come from an 860 area code.
Updates will also be posted on the Town website and Facebook page.
