Counselor Application Procedure

March 10, 2010

Woodbridge Recreation Department is accepting Camp Counselor applications for limited positions in our Pre-School camp program only. This program serves campers ages 3 1/2 - 5 years of age. There are no positions available in the "Big Camp".
Pre-School Camp Director, Mrs. Betty Norman, will evaluate applications and inteview applicants who are potential matches for positions available. Interviews will take place in early April.


The following timeline will be used for Camp Counselor applicants:
• We will begin accepting applications on Monday March 15, 2010
• We will not know the status of last year’s staff until March 31, 2010.
• After this time we will determine if we have any staff openings, review applications that have been received and determine who will be invited for an interview.
• Staffing needs will determine the number of applicants interviewed.
• Interviews usually take place in the evening during the first 2 weeks of April.
• All applicants not selected for an interview will receive a letter indicating this.
• All applications will be kept on file and applicant may be contacted later in the staffing process if more positions are available
• All applicants who come for an interview are typically notified of their status within 2 weeks of the interview.

CIT AND VOLUNTEER PROCEDURE

VOLUNTEERS
• Volunteer applications can be picked up beginning
   Monday March 15, 2010
• As stated in the letter sent to this group in September 2009:
   Volunteer applicants who were CIT’s during the 2009 season can submit applications during priority registration: March 29th- April 1st
• 15 Volunteers will be accepted.
• If space in the program is available, other interested Volunteers may submit applications beginning April 5th.
• Priority will be given to those Volunteers who are available for the full 6 weeks of camp (6/28-8/6)

CIT’s  4/5/10 - No Longer Accepting Applications
• As stated in the letter sent to this group in September 2009:
   Potential CIT’s who were registered as campers during the 2009 season can sign up during priority registration: March 29th-April 1st. If space allows, open registration will begin    on April 5th.
• Registration is limited for this group.
• Priority will be given to those CIT’s who are available for the full 6 weeks of camp (6/28-8/6)
• In the event that there is space in the program, a CIT may sign up for less than 6 weeks. Attendance for week 1 is mandatory in this case.

The cost for the 6 week program is $400.00 for Woodbridge Residents and $500.00 for Non-Residents
