Press Release – July 5, 2018

On the evening of July 3, 2018, the Woodbridge Police Department responded to a call for service after a resident reported that two males were observed going from house to house, knocking on doors.

The males were subsequently found to be canvassers for the State Senate campaign of

Sean Grace.  Mr. Grace has questioned the police interaction with his canvassers.

At this time, I am conducting an administrative review of the incident and will comment further upon its conclusion.

Frank P. Cappiello

Chief of Police

Statement from Woodbridge First Selectman Beth Heller

"I have been made aware of an incident that occurred in Woodbridge on Tuesday, July 3rd. I am taking this matter very seriously, and have asked Police Chief Frank Cappiello to investigate  and report back to me.

After this investigation is complete, and if these allegations should prove to be true, this behavior would be unacceptable, and appropriate action will be taken.

I will refer all other questions to Chief Cappiello. He can be reached by phone at 203-387-2511 or by email at"
