Extended Office Hours for Property Tax Payment, or Pay Online

Woodbridge Property Tax bills are due on July 1 each year and residents have until August 1 to pay without penalty. Starting August 2, there is a state-mandated late fee of 1.5 percent from the due date, with a minimum interest charge of $2. For details, please read the Legal Notice, posted below. 

Residents may mail in checks, or pay by cash or check in-person. Please note: the Tax Collector CANNOT accept credit card payments in person – only online. 

Taxes can be paid in person (by check or cash only), during normal office hours Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.  (Please note:  Town Hall will be closed on July 4, 2018.) For added convenience, the Office of the Tax Collector will also be open on Saturday, July 28th from 9:00 a.m. till 12:00 noon, and on Wednesday, August 1st from 8:30 a.m. till 7:00 p.m.  

If you pay in person you must bring your entire bill with you so the Tax Collector may stamp your receipt.  If payment is made by mail, enclose your check, the entire bill and a self-addressed stamped envelope for a return receipt. Your envelope must be post-marked no later than August 1, 2018 for your payment to be considered on time. Please note, private mail postmarks (such as Pitney Bose machine postage, etc.) are not acceptable for dating purposes, only post office postmarks are accepted for proof of date.

Residents can also use a credit card to pay their tax bills online. Residents who choose to pay with a credit card online may use MasterCard, Visa, Discover or American Express -- please note: credit card companies will charge the resident a 2.5% fee.  Tax bills are due on July 1 each year and residents have until August 1 to pay without penalty. TOWN OF WOODBRIDGE

NOTICE TO ALL WOODBRIDGE TAXPAYERS

 

All persons liable to pay real estate, motor vehicle or personal property taxes in the Town of Woodbridge are hereby notified that the Tax Collector has received the warrant levied by the Board of Finance to collect taxes on the Grand List of October 1, 2017, which becomes due and payable on July 1, 2018.


Real estate and personal property taxes over one hundred dollars ($100.00) are due in two installments.  The first one-half shall be due on July 1, 2018 and become delinquent on August 2, 2018.  The second one-half shall be due on January 1, 2019 and delinquent on February 2, 2019.  Any tax in the amount of one hundred dollars ($100.00) or less and all taxes on motor vehicles shall be due and payable in one single installment on July 1, 2018 and become delinquent on August 2, 2018.  If the installment payment due becomes delinquent, interest will be charged on the installment payment at the rate of 1 ½ % per month from the due date.  Minimum interest charge is $2.00.


The Office of the Tax Collector is open Monday thru Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.  The Town Hall will be closed on July 4, 2018.  For your convenience we will be open on Saturday, July 28th from 9:00 a.m. till 12:00 noon and on Wednesday, August 1st from 8:30 a.m. till 7:00 p.m.  If you pay in person you must bring your entire bill with you so we may stamp your receipt.  If payment is made by mail, enclose your check, the entire bill and a self-addressed stamped envelope for a return receipt.  Credit card payments may now be made on line (only).  There is a fee charged for this service, please read information carefully.


Failure to receive a bill does not exempt you from payment of tax or penalty, per Conn. Gen. Stat. 12-130, 12-146.
