September 2017 - Signs of Autumn

I have been very busy during the past month and would like to use this column to give you a brief idea of what is going on in Town. A new school year has begun and our schools are off to a great start at both Beecher and Amity. I spent a wonderful morning at Beecher on opening day, greeting children as they came off their busses on August 28th. At the Beecher PTO’s Ice Cream Social later that week I had fun scooping ice cream alongside many other volunteers.

August 2017 - End of Summer Update

As the summer comes to an end, I would like to update you on several activities and initiatives, beginning with a renewed focus on sustainability and clean energy for our Town. Of concern to all communities across America, energy efficiency and sustainability efforts such as recycling are on the minds of many in Woodbridge. Recently, the Ad Hoc Energy Advisory Task Force discussed the need for a new Ad Hoc Committee to focus more broadly on Sustainability and goal setting in four specific areas of concern.

July 2017 - Getting Started and Hoping to Hear From You

I am so pleased to begin my term as your First Selectman, and would like to update you on several activities and initiatives. At our Swearing-In Ceremony on June 29th under sunny skies on the Woodbridge Green, many gathered to celebrate the newest chapter in the story of our town’s governance. Elected members of the Board of Selectmen, Woodbridge and Amity Boards of Education, Zoning Board of Appeals, and Board of Assessment Appeals, as well as newly appointed Board and Commission members were sworn-in to begin their terms in office.
